Asgardreia is the factional warfare corporation for Topal Alliance members.
We use this corporation when ever we feel like participating in factional warfare again, it is always there as part of a the Gallente militia.
By using a corporation such as Asgardreia we keep factional warfare and normal Topal Alliance operations separated.

The basics of Factional Warfare

CCP's Empyrean Age expansion was released on the 10th of June 2008.
This expansion introduced, Factional Warfare.

The idea behind Factional Warfare is simple, it introduces Player versus Player game play to the new and inexperienced in a somewhat fair environment.
The tutorial for starting players even changed to incorporate Factional Warfare, at some point doing the tutorial a player is asked to join the militia corporation of his or her race.

Each of the four main empires, who are now at war, have a militia.
A militia works a lot like player alliances, you have an empire militia (alliance) that individual people or even entire corporations can join and so be part of the militia.

The militias are at war with each other (actual there are two sides: Gallente and Minmatar vs. Caldari and Amarr) so any member within either of these militias is automatically at war with two of the "other" militias.

Both sides fight over several lowsec security solar systems that connect the empires.
Militias have to either conquer or defend solar systems by various means that mimics day to day life in nullsec somewhat.

These lowsec solar systems is where most of the fighting occurs, because in higher security solar systems the factions NPC navy is present.

Although highsec space might seem safer, fighting does happen here, since the militias are at war, they can shoot each other anywhere, regardless of the security status of a solar system.

We created Asgardreia and enlisted the corporation in to the Gallente Federation Militia.

This all has become a seasonal activity for us, we return to Asgardreia at least once a year to participate in factional warfare once more before moving on to something else for a while.
